Constantine Construction and Farm is a family-owned business and we are known for our quality in homegrown plants, produce and bulk materials. Our family has been proudly serving the Capital District for over 100 hundred years.
Our farm on Albany-Shaker Road was purchased in 1914 by John Constantine. His son, Donald later purchased the adjoining property in the late 1960’s. In 1986, Donald’s daughter, Laura took over the business with her husband Richard Sr. They are currently running the business with the help of their children, Richard Jr. and Emily.
Richard Sr. expanded the construction business to include tri-axle trucks to haul bulk materials, and Richard Jr. furthered the construction company expansion by adding lowboys to aid in the moving of heavy equipment.
We are proud to have generations of our family actively involved in all corners of our locally owned and operated business.
In 1994, Laura became a certified Women-Owned Business in New York State. In the early 90’s, we built a farm stand to bring our locally grown produce to even more capital region families.
In 2007 we opened Scoup’s Ice Cream Shop alongside the farm stand. We encourage you and your family to come and enjoy our families’ life work. We love seeing grandparents with grandchildren in Scoup’s while Mom and Dad look through our amazing selection of plants and nursery items.
The Garden Center is a favorite spot for homeowners in the Capital District. While many retail Garden Centers bring in product and sell it, Constantine’s is known for the things they do in house.
We are glad you are part of our story. Please say hello next time you’re at the Garden Center.
